An initial five-stage plan was reorganised into two work stages.
Scope of work
Work across the pavement build-up and streetscape
- Project assessment, planning and surface preparation.
- Excavation of existing pavement to 1.5 metres below subbase level.
- Lime stabilisation of the existing subgrade and backfill material.
- Preparation and grading of subbase and base-course layers.
- Installation of flexible pavement.
- Adjustment of the existing stormwater system and reconstruction of kerbs.
- Street landscaping, line marking and quality-assurance activities.
Delivery approach
Coordinating staging, pavement layers and existing services
Staging coordination, lime stabilisation and the integration of stormwater, kerb, landscaping and line-marking work were key delivery considerations. These activities required the pavement sequence to be coordinated around existing conditions and the two-stage programme.
Compaction testing, survey checks and quality records supported the delivery and handover process.
